uredinia mainly hypophyllous, also on the sheaths; they are small, orange, soon naked, pulverulent, without paraphyses; urediniospores with 6-8 pores. Telia between the uredinia, greyish black, long covered by the epidermis. Teliospores one-celled, with thin, smooth wall; pedicel brown, persistent, about as long as the spore.
