No host plant alternation. Aecia mainly hypophyllous, dispersed over the entire leaf, dish-shaped, yellowish. Urediniospores and teliospores formed in common, soon naked sori dispersed over the leaf. Teliospores spores one-celled, ± globular, ø 26 – 49 µm, wall thickening towards the top; apically a conspicuous papilla; pedicel deciduous.
