Spermogonia and aecia unknown. Uredinia yellowish-brown, long covered by the epidermis; urediniospores almost hyaline. Telia also long covered by the epidermis, on the leaves and petioles; they are compartimentalised by rows of cylindrical paraphyses. Teliospores one-celled, light brown, without a papilla; wall thin, smooth; pedicel up to 30 µm, deciduous.

Tomasi (2014a) refers to R. bulbosus, possibly because of confusion with Uromyces dactylidis.
