No host plant alternation, no spermogonia or aecia. Uredinia and telia amphigenous, cinnamon and brown, respectively. Urediniospores spinulose, 17-21 x 28-24 µm, with 3 or 4 germination pores. Teliospores 1-celled, verrucose, with a hyaline papilla, on a short, deciduous pedicel.
