No host plant alternation, only uredinia and telia known. They are amphigenous and black. Urediniospores ± globular, echinulate, with 6-9 pores. Teliospores mixed with the urediniospores, equally ± globular, smooth, on a hyaline, persistent pedicel of up to 70 µm.
