No host plant alternation, only uredinia and telia. Uredinia mainly hypophyllous, often in length rows, cinnamon coloured, pulverulent; no paraphyses. Spores 23-28 x 27-33 µm, with 3 equatorial germination pores. Telia mainly hypophyllous, long covered by the epidermis, greyish black. Spores 1-celled, ovoid, 16-24 x 20-30 µm; pedicel about as long as the spore, breaking off.
