No host plant alternation. Spermogonia and aecia hypophyllous, uniformly dispersed all over the leaf, that is not disfigured;, aecia sunken in the leaf tissue, orange, cupulate; spores densely verrucose. Uredinia cinnamon coloured, long covered by the epidermis; spores diameter 20-25 µm, with 5-7 pores. Telia amphigenous, almost black; spores one-celled, 18-24 x 20-30 µm, remotely verrucose; pedicel short, deciduous.
