No host plant alternation, only black telia, scattered over the entire leaf, mainly the underside. Although the mycelium is systemic, the plant hardly is disfigured. Teliospores one-celled; wall with a pattern of hyaline warts; apically a low, sometimes barely visible, hyaline papilla.
