1-5 mm wide leaf spots that at the upper side often form a white ring with a brownish-purple border and a thin, often perforated centre; at the underside the spots are dirty white. Spores in the leaf tissue, isolated, less often in small groups, pale yellowish brown; wall smooth, two-layered.
