the seeds are strongly swollen; their contents is modified into a brown mass of spore balls. They are up to 250 µm long and consist of a ± parenchymatous kernel, covered by a single continuous layer of spores and a thin layer of cortical cells.

Stuckenia filiformis, pectinata (= Potamogeton).
Some observations on Potamogeton reported by Tomasi (2014a) must apply to D. hydrophila.
