upperside of the leaf with yellow spots. Underside there with a brownish purple fungal down of erect conidiophores that apically several times are branching, each branch ending in an ovoid conidium.

P. pisi is considered a synonym of P. viciae by the Index Fungorum (2016). The species is sometimes addressed as P. viciae f.sp. pisi in the literature.
