upperside of the leaves with purple, later brown, slightly embossed patches; at the underside a whitish fungal down, consisting of erect, distally several times dichotomously branching conidiophores, each terminal branch ending upon an ovoid, colourless conidium.

Prunus laurocerasus; Rosa canina, chinensis, gallica, rubiginosa, rugosa.

This species is also often mentioned in connection with infestations of Rubus; however, that concerns the closely related P. rubi.
