tips of the shoots unhealthy, with shortened internodes. Underside of the leaves with a greyish white to purplish-brown fungal cover of 0.7 mm high erect conidiophores that apically several times are branching, each branch ending upon a conidium.

However, thee analysis by García-Blázquez (2008a) does show indeed three groups: P. trifoliorum (only on T. medium), P. trifolii-alpestris (T. alpestre, striatum) and P. trifolii-repentis (T. repens).
