uredinia not numerous; urediniospores 12-24 x 28-21 µm, with 2 pores above the equator. Telia blackish brown, hypophyllous, pulvinate. Teliospores slender, with a smooth wall, that apically is strongly thickened; most are two-celled, but unicellular spore are rather frequent. Pedicel yellowish, persistent; the spores do not fall off.
