case

The egg, shaped like a bundt cake, is deposited on a leaf, near the tip. The first instar, yellowish brown larve lives as a miner. Then a case is formed; when fully developed this is an almost straight, tubular silken case, yellow brown, up to 20 mm long. Rear end weakly compressed, two-valved. Mouth angle c. 40°.
